Discovered Art: 2011-2012
Discovered art: sometimes simple scenes provide unexpected visual treasures. Discovering the art in the ordinary is half the fun of photography.

Boxes of dried fish at the Jungbu Dried Fish Market in Seoul, South Korea, October 2011.
For somem reason I love this rather abstract scene featuring A Roy Curry Puff (whatever that is), a hanger, and other items. Found on a random wall in a seeminly boring part of Bangkok, Thailand, viewed on my way to the LDS Church there on a Sunday morning in 2011.
Untouched photo of a mirrow on my wife's car during an automatic car wash in Appleton, Wisconsin, showing interesting patterns of foam on the driver-side mirror. (Untouched except for resizing and adding my name.)
A detailed portion of the foam in the above photo from a car wash. Sometimes the real beauty is in the details easily missed at first glance.
Another detail from the car wash photo.
Dual tubas from a military marching band at the Appleton Flag Day Parade, June 13, 2009. I like the reflections of the town captured in the bells of these brass instruments.
Farbics at a crafts exhibit in Little Chute, Wisconsin, for Cheese Fest 2011.
Reflections of neon lights in the window of a Menasha, Wisconsin rental shop on Appleton Road, Apriul 2011.
A lamp post at Riverside Park in Neenah. When lit by the sun from behind, I like the texture of the glass.
Splashing streams of water at the water fountain inside the Detroit International Airport, Oct. 2010.
Dumptruck, with thistles in front. Near Lindon and Orem, Utah, 2011.
Appleton winter: back of a pick-up truck, 2010. I like the texture of the snow, delicate and ephemeral against the hardy, rugged vehicle.
Carved charms for sale in the ancient water town of Zhujiajiao, China, 2011.
Withered flowers at a tombstone in Appleton, a reminder of the temporary nature of our lives here. Are you focused on what will matter for the long run? The long run as in eternity?

Cabbage in the Lindsay kitchen, 2010.
Cinnamon in a market in Seoul, Korea, October 2011.
